Success on Training “Strengthening Institutional and Monitoring Capacity of Ethnic Minority Populace”

In the middle of March 2018 (13th – 20th), the Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam successfully organized the training cum study tour program on “Strengthening Institutional and Monitoring Capacity of Ethnic Minority Populace” for 06 officers from Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The training’s purpose is to provide participants the overall view on activities & interventions related to strengthening institutional and monitoring capabilities of ethnic minority populace, the latest approaches, inventions and strategies related to the program theme as well as to have comparative snapshot between Vietnam and Bangladesh.

The training was conducted through several field visits to help the participants, exploring the culture, the lives of ethnic minority people from different groups of Vietnam. They also had chance to talk with representatives of minority peple, understand more about government policies supporting and encouraging minority people in developing their business. There was a half day workshop on “Cashew nut cultivation and processing system” conducted in Ho Chi Minh City for the participants to share their view with Vietnamese experts who have been working long time with a minority group in Binh Phuoc Province. Successful business cases were shared and appreciated by the participants.

All visits and workshops brought a great overview of planning development on minority community in Vietnam. Connected with that, the participants could develop specialized knowledge and practical application related to minority group in Bangladesh context.
