The DPP lasts for 2 full-time months and 4 part-time months at place of work and is offered to development practitioners in Africa, Latin America, Central Asia or Southeast Asia. It also opens to Swiss and other ‘Northern’ countries candidates working in international cooperation, whether they are based in the field or at the headquarters of their organization.

Module 1: July/August 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand (5 full-time weeks) development actors; Analytical and methodological skills and definition of the professional thesis proposal; Strategic tools for management of development projects.

(Development practitioners who wish to participate in Module 1 only will receive an Executive Certificate of DPP)

Module 2: September/December 2020 (4 part-time months at place of work)

Job-related professional thesis and an e-learning course on gender issues.

Module 3: January/February 2021 in Geneva (3 full-time weeks)

Strengthening and reflecting on leadership skills (mediation, negotiation, foresight); Public presentation of the professional theses and interaction within thematic groups, professors and experts; Work sessions with public administrations and international/non-governmental organizations.

Who can apply?

To apply candidates should be working in governmental agencies, international and local NGOs, international organizations, bilateral cooperation agencies, or private organizations in positions related to development and international cooperation aspects. Scholarships are available for candidates coming from the Mekong Region (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar) and Switzerland.

The criteria for selection are: Professionals with key positions in public, private sectors, international and local NGOs or civil society associations; University degree (minimum 3 years) and several years of professional experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience); Employer’s letter of commitment; Proficiency in English (for candidates who wish to join SEA group); Optimal age between 30 and 45 years.
