It is a great honor of Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AITVN) in collaboration with the Institute of International Education – Bangkok (IIE) to satisfyingly organize a training program on “UAE – Vietnam Exchange” for 25 teachers and educators coming from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during 25th to 30th March 2018.
The training was conducted in form of lectures combined with field visits in order to provide the participants with the overview of education system in Vietnam from childhood education to the university education, teacher training strategies and current issues in teaching and schools in Vietnam. The strategies for international academic achievement like PISA Score (the Program for International Student Assessment) have been introduced as one of the key training topics.
The program also carried out several visits to local schools and universities such as: Trung Tu primary school, Doan Thi Diem school, Nguyen Tat Thanh school, Secondary school in Trau Quy town, University of Languages and International Studies, as well as education and training management organizations (Ministry of Education and Training – MoET, Hanoi Department of Education and Training – DoET), etc. Through all these visits, the UAE educators had chance to observe classes, talk with students, closely discuss with representatives of schools, educational managers and experts, get precious experiences on international achievements that come from long-term investment strategies. Owing to the practical approach, the lesson learnt reflections have been also held after each day of lecture and field visit. The final project presentations conducted by 6 groups of participants on the last training day helped the participants to review all the absorbed knowledge and information, share their impressions of Vietnam education, identify differences between two education systems: UAE and Vietnam, and also share interesting experiences gained from Vietnam’s context and which ones are possibly applied into UAE’s.
After 6 intensive working days, the training program was successfully completed with high satisfaction from all participants. The AIT-VN delivered service and training quality included professional arrangements that were very impressive and positively evaluated.
