Workshop “Best practice lessons on development, construction, operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar plants” successful organized

On the morning of 19 Jan 2018, Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam held successfully the workshop “Best practice lessons on development, construction, operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar plants” successful organized.

Solar power is now a field of research and application directly transforming sunlight into electricity using solar cells. Due to the increasing demand for clean energy, the solar cell industry is growing extremely fast.

Understanding that need, AIT-VN in cooperation with Scatec Solar organized the workshop “Best practice lessons on development, construction, operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar plants” aiming to exchange experiences, and capture the new trend in development, construction, operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar plants.

More than 60 participants coming from relating departments, corporations, enterprises such as Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN, PVN, Vinacomin, Lilama, Toshiba,… attended the workshop. At the workshop, Mr. Philippe Tavernier, Project Development Director, Scatec Solar presented outstanding issues:

  • Project Development phase and how to get project Financial Close
  • Main Components/equipment of a PV plant and how do they work
  • Project Construction phase and how do we built it
  • Operation and Maintenance phase and how do we operate it

The workshop has received great attention from participants. The participants raised questions actively as well as had lively discussion about cost saving, equipment maintenance, or how to implement effectively. This contributed significantly to the success of the workshop.

The workshop in a half day was not enough to solve all raised problems, but also brought important knowledge to participants who are working in the field of solar power in Vietnam, which help them to have better orientation in the future.
