On the morning of February 25th of 2022, at the University of Danang (Da Nang City), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the University of Danang officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on human resource development. The signing ceremony took place solemnly in both the offline and online forms, ensuring distance and safety against the epidemic.
Attending the signing ceremony were Dr. Eden Woon – President of AIT, Professor Shobhakar Dhakal – Vice President of Academic Affairs of AIT along with Deans of three units (via online platform). On the behalf of AIT Vietnam, there were the direct attendance of Dr. Phung Van Dong – Director of AIT Vietnam, Professor Nguyen Xuan Vang – senior advisor of the director and officers and employees of AIT Vietnam.
Representing UD, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Deputy Director of UD, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Quang Vinh-Rector of University of Science and Technology-UD, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho – Rector of University of Technical Education – UD, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector of University of Economics – UD, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Huong-Director of Vietnam-UK Institute of Research and Training and representatives of leaders of relevant departments and departments (International Cooperation, Science, Technology and Environment, Organization and Personnel, Training, Education quality assurance, Student work).
At the signing ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – Director of UD introduced the training ecosystem of the University of Danang and its affiliates, and affirmed the cooperation potential of the two units in many fields such as student training, staff training and scientific and technological research activities. The President of UD expressed his confidence in the prestige and training quality of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and affirmed that the comprehensive cooperation strategy between the University of Danang and AIT will open up new opportunities. for students under the Integrated Training program, as well as opportunities to improve qualifications for staff and lecturers within the framework of Project 89 on international doctoral training at AIT.
During his speech, Dr. Eden Woon – President of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) also emphasized that via this event Asian Institute of Technology wishes to realize their students’ dreams through effective and scientific cooperation with the University of Danang and its member units, together building a sustainable cooperative relationship, serving the common interests of research, teaching and learning activities for both sides.
With more than 60 years of experience in training Master and Doctorate, AIT has provided training programs with international quality, meeting the inevitable development needs of Vietnam and other countries in the region. Mr. Eden also pleased to share, AIT’s alumni in Vietnam account for a very large part of AIT’s alumni worldwide, and many of them have been and continue to AIT’s mission – making important contributions to government, business and society.
In order to improve the quality of human resources, AIT has developed and implemented graduate training programs and potential research projects for the University of Danang through educational and research activities. research, consulting and training. In response to the government’s promotion support through Project 89, AIT created a policy to provide additional support for candidates and lecturers who wish to pursue a PhD at AIT flexibly.
Specifically, the agreement marks an agreement on cooperation in regional research projects and educational programs; exchange of lecturers, administrative staff and students; organize seminars and symposiums of mutual interest; conduct potential projects of mutual interest and exchange publications/or training materials as well as research topics.
At the ceremony, leaders of the two units expressed their joy and belief that the signing of a memorandum of understanding will open up opportunities for the development of both. The signing ceremony of cooperation went smoothly with the consensus on the strategy of both AIT and UD.
