On July 27, 2023, AIT Center in Vietnam (AITCV) visited and worked at Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham), opening up many opportunities for cooperation in the future.

According to data on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, accumulating valid projects as of January 2023, Thailand ranks second in Southeast Asia (after Singapore), which is 9th out of 142 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with 685 valid projects and a total registered investment capital of 13.1 billion USD. In the current difficult economic period, this can be considered a positive sign of the cooperation potential of Vietnamese and Thai businesses.

During the visit, Dr. Phung Van Dong – Executive Director of AITCV expressed his appreciation for ThaiCham’s efforts to promote Thai businesses to invest in Vietnam. Mr. Santipong Binthep – Secretary General and Ms. Punnika Kaewrison – Board of Management also highly appreciated the contributions of AITCV in improving the quality of human resources in the country and in the region.

With the vision to become a leading training organization, AITCV has proposed many potential cooperation ideas with ThaiCham to promote professional training that nurtures skilled professionals, conducts impactful research, fosters innovation. In the near future, ThaiCham expressed special interest in professional doctoral and master’s training programs, short-term capacity building training in business management, sustainable development, etc. as well as organizing annual international conferences and professional workshops on environment, social and governance (ESG).

The visit marked a big step in the cooperation journey of AITCV and ThaiCham, opening up many bilateral potential opportunities in the future.
