On November 4th 2025, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new chapter in academic collaboration & research partnership between two prestigious institutions with strong traditions and academic excellence in the region.

Representing HNUE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son – President; Dr. Dinh Minh Hang – Head of Administration and External Relations; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Hai Ha – Deputy Head of Science and Technology; Dr. Tran Quoc Kha – Deputy Head of Graduate Studies; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai – Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education.


From AIT, the ceremony was led by Prof. Dr. Pai Chi Li – AIT President; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vang – Senior Advisor of AIT Vietnam; Dr. Phung Van Dong – Director of AIT Vietnam; Ms. Thai Mai Huong – Deputy Director of AIT Vietnam; Mr. Dao Manh Tuan – Head of Communications and External Relations; and Ms. Vu Thi Chi – Head of Administration.
The agreement focuses on developing a Unified Program in Biotechnology, Data Science & AI, Semiconductor, enabling HNUE students to complete both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in just five years. Students will pursue undergraduate studies at HNUE before transitioning to AIT for graduate education, with access to various scholarships and tuition support.

Both institutions also expressed interest in expanding cooperation into fields such as Business Management, Financial Technology, and Applied Education. AIT and HNUE will also explore joint initiatives including student and faculty exchange, international summer programs in Thailand, collaborative research projects, and scientific conferences.
This milestone marks a significant step in advancing international academic collaboration, fostering high-quality human resource development, and creating new opportunities for Vietnamese students to engage with a global learning environment.
