EQuest Education Group, Phu Xuan University, and the Asian Institute of Technology collaborate to establish the Institute of Emerging Technologies at Phu Xuan University, advancing a new-generation technology university model in Vietnam
On the morning of July 7, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, EQuest Education Group, Phu Xuan University (PXU), and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in the strategic development of Phu Xuan University as an innovation-driven, STEM-focused, and internationally recognized institution of higher education.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; business partners; and leaders of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), EQuest Education Group, and Phu Xuan University.
Building an International Training Model for Strategic Technology Fields
Under the MoU, the parties will establish the Institute of Emerging Technologies (IMT) at Phu Xuan University. The Institute will offer undergraduate degree programs in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Industrial Systems Engineering, Robotics, Semiconductors, and other emerging technology fields.

AIT will serve as the academic partner, providing support in curriculum development, academic quality assurance, teaching engagement, faculty development, and the promotion of international research collaboration.
Also under the MoU, graduates of Phu Xuan University’s IMT programs will be eligible for advanced placement into AIT’s graduate programs with reduced study duration and preferential tuition fees.
The partnership among EQuest Education Group, Phu Xuan University, and AIT will expand access to high-quality international education in Vietnam while developing human resources for sectors that play a pivotal role in the country’s new phase of development.
This initiative responds to the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, which calls for breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the development of high-quality human resources as key drivers for enhancing national competitiveness and promoting economic growth.
The initiative also reflects the Vietnamese government’s orientation toward encouraging the private sector to contribute more actively to innovation, digital transformation, STEM education, and high-quality human resource development. As a member of EQuest Education Group, Phu Xuan University aims to build a new university model aligned with international standards, closely connected with industry, and responsive to the development needs of Vietnam’s economy and society.
Professor Pai-Chi Li, President of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), stated: “AIT looks forward to partnering with EQuest in establishing and developing the IMT at Phu Xuan University. This will mark the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership among EQuest, Phu Xuan University, and AIT, laying the foundation for deeper academic engagement, joint research and innovation initiatives, and the potential to develop an AIT university model in Vietnam in the future”.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dam Quang Minh, Member of the Board of Directors, Phu Xuan University, emphasized: “We believe that through this partnership, Vietnam will gain another world-class university with high regional rankings, one that contributes to the advancement of science, engineering, and technology to meet the country’s development needs. The collaboration with AIT is not merely a connection between educational institutions, but a meaningful contribution to enhancing the quality of human resources, expanding access to international education, and driving innovation within Vietnam’s educational ecosystem”.
