On September 10, 2026, the Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AIT Vietnam) held the Opening Ceremony for Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Batch 8 and Executive MBA (EMBA) Batch 26, welcoming students as they begin their journey of learning, research, and professional development with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
The ceremony was attended by AIT Vietnam’s leadership, representatives of the School of Management (SOM), AIT faculty, alumni, business representatives, and DBA and EMBA students. It provided an opportunity for students across different cohorts to meet, exchange experiences, and build connections ahead of the new students’ academic journey.
A New Journey Begins
In his opening remarks, Dr. Phung Van Dong, Executive Director, AIT Vietnam, welcomed DBA8 and EMBA26 students. He shared his expectations for the incoming cohorts and encouraged them to take an active approach to learning, draw on their professional experience, and make the most of the opportunities the programs offer to develop their capabilities.
Following the opening remarks, Prof. Yuosre Badir, Dean of the School of Management (SOM), Asian Institute of Technology, shared his perspectives on the role of postgraduate education for managers and professionals in a changing business environment. His message emphasized continuous learning, academic exchange, and the practical application of knowledge.
Mr. Sam Hanna, Lecturer at the School of Management (SOM) and Co-Director of the EMBA Program, Asian Institute of Technology, spoke about the connection between management knowledge and experience in the business world. Drawing on his work with managers throughout their studies, he highlighted the value of exchanging experiences, broadening perspectives, and developing leadership capabilities in a rapidly changing world.
The welcome messages and insights from AIT’s leadership and faculty encouraged students as they began their studies and reflected AIT Vietnam’s commitment to supporting their learning and professional development.
Connecting Experiences and Sharing the Values of the AIT Community
Alumni, a business representative, and new students brought diverse perspectives on learning, professional life, and career development. Their first-hand experiences offered incoming students a closer look at studying at AIT and how management knowledge can be applied in the workplace.
