MoU signing ceremony between NEU and AIT

In the morning of November 26, 2020, the National Economics University and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote comprehensive cooperation and improve the quality of human resources, undergraduate and graduate training programs … The signing ceremony was held in the online form at the offices of the two units.

Attending the signing ceremony, from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), there were Dr. Eden Woon – President of Asian Institute of Technology; Prof. Deepak Sharma – Vice President in charge of academia; Dr. Phung Van Dong – Director of AIT in Vietnam (AITCV). On the side of the NEU, there are TS. Nguyen Xuan Vang – Former Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training. On the side of National Economics University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong – Rector of the university; Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa – Vice Rector; together with leaders of Departments, Faculties, Institutes, Centers of two units, representatives of International Cooperation Department – Ministry of Education and Training, and internal and external representatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong shared, the MoU between NEU and AIT is a milestone for the enhancement of comprehensive cooperation, potential enhancement and developing high-quality human resources in the post-Covid-19 period. The Rector believes that with the signed strategic cooperation agreement, the Asian Institute of Technology and the National Economics University will be one of the locations for human resource training, undergraduate and graduate programs, with potential research projects in many fields of Vietnam in the coming time.

Also at the signing ceremony, Dr. Eden Woon said that although the Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated in the world, the AIT can not go to Vietnam directly to attend the signing ceremony, but with the strengths and determination of both units, the online signing still takes place smoothly. Dr. Eden Woon also emphasized that through today’s event, the Asian Institute of Technology wishes to realize students’ dreams through effective and scientific cooperation with National Economics University.

Accordingly, both parties will together build a sustainable cooperative relationship, serving the common interests of the two sides’ research, teaching and learning activities, specifically: implementing university-master consolidation programs, doctoral training; promote training and exchange of expertise among researchers; co-organizing international conferences; exchange students with affiliate programs (unified degree programs) …

The AIT was established in 1959 by members of SEATO such as UK, USA, Thailand, New Zealand … This is the leading Institute of Technology in Asia to train quality human resources high for countries in this continent.
