Professional Master Program in Environmental Engineering and Management (PM-EEM) - Intake 2017

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in collaboration with AITVN offers Professional Master Program in Environmental Engineering and Management (PM-EEM) in Vietnam aiming to provide middle and senior level managers and policy makers with advanced knowledge and skills in environmental engineering and management. The program looks for solutions to environmental problems, water supply and sanitation, wastewater treatment and disposal systems, air pollution, solid and hazardous wastes, waste minimization, and life cycle assessment, environmental impact assessment, and environmental toxicology in Vietnam and Asian region. The first batch (PM-EEM1) completed in May 2011, PM-EEM2 completed in December 2012, PM-EEM3 in May 2015 and PM-EEM4 will be in August in Hanoi.

The program will take one year and consists of three semesters. Student will complete a 33-credit study program (24CR of coursework, 6CR of research study and 3CR of special study written based on the knowledge gained from the internship/international field trip).

Entry requirement

- Bachelor degree (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent, in an appropriate field of study

- Minimum of 4-5 years working experience

- Certified proficiency in English

3. AITEIT (4.5) 
Applicants who do not have proof of English language proficiency (equivalent to paper based TOEFL 500) can apply for the English Test offered by AIT. Test fee is US$20. 
An English bridging course will be organized by AIT-VN for those who need more English and Academic Skills before joining the program.

The program is conducted in one year. Students can obtain a Professional Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and Management (PM-EEM) by completing a 33 credits curriculum work, consisting of 24 credits of 10 courses, 6 credits of research study and 3 credits of special study (internship/international field trip) within 1 year.

In the first two semesters, students will take basic and advanced courses selected in consultation with an academic/thesis advisor from among the regular courses offered at AIT. During the third semester, students will carry out their project study. Students will conduct international field trips:

- First trip: In order to extend knowledge of current situations related to environmental issues participants should attend seminars and study tours outside Vietnam, such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Taiwan or do internship in AIT Thailand.

- Second trip: Travel to AIT, Thailand to attend Graduation ceremony

Faculty is from Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) Field of Study, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). We have excellent faculty members who act as course instructors and research supervisors in an environment rich with intellectual challenge and with outstanding laboratory and support facilities.

EEM is highly experienced in environmental engineering and management education, from short training programs to master programs, doctoral programs and post-doctoral programs. So far, there are more than 1,400 masters and 140 doctors graduated in Environmental Engineering and Management program. EEM also have its strong partnership with international organizations and government’s environmental engineering and management organizations in providing consultancy services and professional researches to enhance the quality of environmental management projects.
